Indian Hill At St. Xavier Lacrosse

What a game this ended up being. It was the last tournament game I did for the Spring season. The game went to overtime to decide the winner. Lots of fans in the stands for each time with noise makers and flags. Unfortunately one team had to end their season. Thanks to both teams for having me out to the game. Here are just a few of my favorites from the game.

Indian Hill At Moeller Lacrosse

The second to last tournament game that I covered pitted Indian Hill against Moeller. What a great turnout of fans for both sides. The game was intense from the first whistle. They lined one side of the field and I did my best to stay out of their way so they could watch the game. There is limited raised seating so I definitely had to stay low which is normally how I shoot this sport anyways. The field has nets up at both ends to keep the balls from leaving the field area and I started contemplating from the moment I say them if I would want to shoot from behind them or not. I am always looking for new places to shoot from so I can produce unique images. So here are a few images from the game, 2 are from the end of the field.

First image from where I was standing next to a metal pole at the end of the field. I convinced myself I could just back up behind it if a ball was coming at me.
Surprisingly I hung in and got 3 more frames before I lowered the camera to make sure the ball was going in the net and not at me.

Lakota West At Summit Country Day Lacrosse

I had never been to Summit Country Day and was impressed the minute I drove into the school grounds. The buildings are incredible. I would love to do a portrait session there with all the great nature backgrounds that were available. The field was a bit tight with the sun setting behind the teams which meant I was going to be pretty limited on good places to shoot from. But, wow what a game! It was a tournament game and it was back and forth the entire game. Just when you think one team was going to pull it out the other would score. Here are just a few images from the game. Moeller At Lakota West Lacrosse

Back to some sports images. The Moeller at Lakota West game was played back on May 21st. The field is really close to my house so I like that. The field has a huge curve to it for drainage which makes it hard to get any images from across the field when the ball is on the ground. All you can see is legs which is a bit frustrating for me. The games started at 6 I think and the sun was definitely a factor. You can tell by a few of the images below that I was shooting with the sun in my face. The sky is blown out so the players could be seen instead of just being shadows. Makes for a clean background which of course I like. By the time the Varsity game got to halftime I was wanting the sun back. The field has limited lighting and by the end of the game it was pretty hard to get any quality images. Okay, I will stop complaining about lighting and let you see some images:)

Lakota West At Loveland Lacrosse

Another lacrosse game played in the rain. After the last rain game I made it a priority to finish getting rain gear for myself. I got lucky and found some that worked great for this game! We definitely have had a wet spring. Even with the weather there were fans for both teams rooting them on. Here are some of my favorites from the game.

Elder At St. Xavier Reserve Lacrosse

From the last post you know that it misted or sprinkled throughout the game. Definitely not true for this game. I was invited out for Senior night which ended up moving being moved inside because of the heavy rain. The game was on though and I am not sure I have ever been that wet after a game. My clothes were soaked and dripping. The rain gear for my equipment held up though. At points it came down so hard I thought it might actually be hail because of how hard it was hitting my head. Even though I was a bit on the miserable side it was actually fun to get images from the game. Yes, I tend to be a bit crazy at times. So here are some of my favorites:
