Oak Hills At Lakota West Girls Soccer

Even though this game was back in September I still remember it. Probably because it started much later than scheduled. The boys freshmen game got started late because a ref was late. I unfortunately could not make it to the start of the boys game so I was just planning on covering the girls game. When I got there and walked in the boys game was only 18 minutes into it. Since I plan on getting to games 25-30 minutes early you can guess how surprised I was. It was nice to sit and actually watch a game for a chance. When you photograph a game it is not at all like watching a game. You know what is going on but you only see so little of the true game action. Anyways, the girls game started pretty quickly after the boys game was over but I was starting to worry about lights. The Lakota West soccer stadium does not have the best lights for full coverage of the field. What was even more of a challenge, they waited a very long time to even turn the lights on. Since they are normally not needed for a freshmen game they had to go through the proper steps to get them turned on. Sometimes challenges are good and all turned out well. Check below for some images of the game.

Stopping the ball to check out where the defense is behind her.

Surrounded by the other team.

Same idea as an image from above. Can you tell they are taught to do this?
