A Preview

An Update

I am working on a new blog and some website changes. Now is the time to speak up if you have any suggestions for either site. I am also taking game requests for the upcoming sports season. Now is the time to get on the list.

Sports Gallery Cleanup

It is that time again - sports gallery cleanup. All games that occurred from November 2007 through February 2008 will be archived on November 12th. If you have any questions regarding this please let me know.

Game Requests

It is now easier to make a game request. I have added a new page to the website that allows you to make the request directly from there. A few people mentioned they did not realize they could make a request so hopefully this will help people become aware of this option. Like always though, paying sessions always come first. Requests will be handled in the order they come in and also quantity for a specific game. If you have any questions let me know. Here is the direct link:

One Of Those Days

Just when I felt like I things under control after the power outage my main site goes down. I have contacted my provider and they are working on the issue. No time estimate yet. Sorry for the problem. The good news is the game proofs are still working. You can access games from the link on the right. As soon as I know things are working again I will update this post.

Update 3:07pm: I have no official word yet from my provider but things have been running for awhile without a problem. Hopefully they will continue on that pattern. Now if I can only get my phone to work :)

Another update at 4:54pm: So my phone works now which is a great thing. My site is running fine but I cannot ftp anything. Which means I cannot remove my phone not working message. I know things could be worse so I am staying calm and continuing to work on my list of things for the day. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Lots for some game images tomorrow on the blog.

Power

Got home from some field hockey games tonight and I had power! I was very excited. Thanks to my great neighbors I was able to get a little work done today before the games. They got power back on Monday evening and earlier today ran an extension cord from their house to mine. I thought that was so great of them. It definitely made my day better. So the goal tomorrow is to answer emails. Please note - the business phone is still not working for some reason. Best estimate is sometime Friday afternoon before it will be fixed. If you have my mobile number feel free to use it to get a hold of me. Email is the other alternative. Sorry for the problem but it is out of my control at this point.

I hope everyone else has managed to regain power as well. Be safe.

High Winds

I am without power as many people are because of the high winds we had on Sunday. Hopefully everyone stayed safe and did not suffer too much damage. As soon as I get constant power I will get back to any emails and phone calls. Currently I am at my parents dropping off some food and using a little of their power. Stay safe.

Where Will I Be Tonight

I officially start my next sports season tonight. You can find me at the Lakota West field for two freshmen soccer games.

updated 6:33pm: Correction - only one game. The girls game did not occur as scheduled. Makes it an earlier night for me than planned. Off to get all the proofs from the boys game done and online.

Where I Was Today

What a beautiful day today! I luckily had an outdoor portrait session. You could not ask for better weather. Then an outdoor wedding reception. (as a guest) Hopefully this nice weather continues. I hope everyone got to at least spend 5 minutes outside today.

Game Requests

Since I cannot figure out how to make a post always appear at the top for an amount of time I am re-posting some information. It is that time of year again where I take requests from you on games you would like me to cover. If there is more than one request for different events on a specific day I will let you know that and which one I am going to cover. If the person making the request really wants a specific game covered I will recommend a paying session if a conflict arises. Requests can be made through the contact page on the Trimble Photography website, an email to barb@trimphoto.com or calling the studio.

This year I am also looking for a few people willing to pass out my information at various games. I try to make it through the stands at every event but unfortunately I do not make it everyone all the time. Only one person per team will be taken. Sports Gallery Clean-Up

I am rapidly preparing for the next sports season which involves a lot of clean-up. From clearing up some hard drives to removing online galleries. On Monday, August 4th I will be removing the online proofs of games from the 2007 fall sports season. If you ever needed them reloaded at a later date please do not hesitate to contact me. Everything is archived and kept for 5 years. Questions? Let me know.

The Master Board

I was looking for a better way to keep track of the different sporting events that I wanted to cover this upcoming season. In the past I would just put it in pencil in my calendar or highlight it on the schedule. Which means then I would have to look through all the schedules for the highlights which was definitely not a fast thing to do. Especially if I wanted to respond on the phone to a request or quickly reply via email. I am an honest person if you call in for a request or a team sports session and I have it on my list of games that I want to go to then I will tell you that. So this year I am going to put all the games up on my new white board. It is hanging on my right side so with a quick glance I can see everything. Now I just have to get busy and start going through schedules. That is on my list of things to do in about a week when schedules should definitely be finalized. Meeting New People

Yesterday morning I joined a new group called the Cincinnati Women Bloggers. Those of you who know me well that I tend to be a bit shy until I get to know you. I am trying to get over that and joining a new group where I know absolutely nobody going in definitely put me out of my comfort zone. What a great group though! They made me feel welcome right away. It was a good meeting and I look forward to getting to know everyone in the group and reading their blogs. Thanks for making me feel welcome from the start.

Summer Sports

I have had a few questions recently regarding action shots during the summer. I definitely do cover games during the summer but I only go when requested or a paying session. There are several reasons for this but the main ones are:

1. It is hard to find summer schedules
2. A lot of people take vacation during the summer and I would hate to go to a game where some team members are missing because of vacation.

And yes, I do cover youth sports but I will not go to a game unless invited. I do not want to show up to children's games without knowing at least one person and having permission to be there. I have my reasons for this rule I put in place for myself.

So, if you like me to come out to a game please contact me. I will be more than happy to come out on request or schedule a session for your team or athlete.

And just so you do not think I am sitting around doing nothing, I spend a lot of my time in the summer on portraits, marketing and learning. I will save you all the boring details:)
